What Rowan Cargo is

The file, from booking to invoice.

A freight forwarder lives by coordinating ships, containers, customs, documentation and deadlines. Rowan Cargo puts all of that operation into a single file: client and route, containers and shipping line, ETA, documentary cut-offs, margins and invoicing. No parallel spreadsheets, no lost emails.

The core is validated in a real import/export operation via Vigo and is delivered ready for several offices: each branch with its own portfolio, management with the consolidated picture of the group.

Control tower

All your operations live, on a map.

Ships (AIS), land traffic and real-time incidents cross-referenced with your files and your active cargo. It only alerts you when something genuinely affects one of your operations.

Departures management

No cut-off ever missed.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before getting started.

What's the difference between Rowan Cargo and Rowan Rutas?

They're two different products. Rowan Cargo is the management software for freight forwarders and cargo agents (forwarding): import/export files, containers, maritime control tower, documentary cut-offs and vessel departures. Rowan Rutas is a last-mile route-planning TMS for companies with their own fleet. If you move containers and manage international files, your product is Rowan Cargo.

Does it work for a forwarder with several offices?

Yes. Rowan Cargo is designed multi-office from the ground up: each office manages its own files with its own numbering and portfolio, and management gets a consolidated view of the group (margins, active files, upcoming cut-offs) by office and aggregated. It scales from a single branch to a network of dozens of offices.

Does the control tower use real ship and traffic data?

Yes. The control tower cross-references vessel positions (AIS) with real-time land traffic incidents (accidents, closures, tailbacks, roadworks, weather) and cross-references these with your files and your active cargo, alerting you only when something genuinely affects one of your operations.

Does it track documentary cut-offs and vessel departures?

Yes. The cut-offs and departures module lists documentary cut-offs and departures (ETD) that are due in the coming days or already overdue, by file and by vessel, so no documentation ever slips past deadline. It's one of the most expensive causes of overspend at a freight forwarder, and here it's under control.

Does it integrate with shipping lines and my accounting?

Rowan Cargo connects with shipping lines via DCSA for container tracking, and with your invoicing/accounting so each file generates its invoice and its accounting entry. It issues Verifactu-compliant e-invoices as standard. The specific connection to your shipping lines and your ERP is finalised during implementation.

How long before it's up and running?

The core (files, containers, control tower, cut-offs and invoicing) is built and validated in real operation. Implementation at your forwarder — data migration, office onboarding, connection with shipping lines and invoicing — usually wraps up between the second and fourth month depending on volume and number of offices.
